Correspondence

Correspondence

The IMB Archives contains three types of correspondence:

  • Executive Correspondence – records of various leadership offices (president, vice-president, area secretaries)
  • Mission Correspondence – records produced by each mission (e.g., North China, Equatorial Brazil) including minutes, reports, and budgets
  • Missionary Correspondence - official company correspondence conducted between IMB missionaries and IMB leadership, as well as private papers donated by missionaries or their families

Official correspondence dates from 1845 to the present; private papers range from the early 19th century (prior to the formation of the IMB) and continue to be acquired.
