Pramod (name changed) is a well-educated, wealthy CEO. He lives in a lovely home full of Western conveniences in a cosmopol¬
itan South Asian city, and he and his family enjoy high status and influence in their community. Pramod is a typical person
among Forward Caste Hindus. The Forward Caste is
composed of various sub-castes of Hindus: Brahmins *
. (priests), Kshatriyas (rulers/warriors) and Vaishyas
(landowners and merchants), mostly living in India, but
also forming the majority of Hindus living in the West.
Because of their high status in society, many Christians * ^

all and to experience a relationship with Him, knowing that they will spend eternity with Him. Join us and pray for Southeast

Jesus whispers, "She needs ME"
Anupa (name changed), who is married to a wealthy business¬
man and usually loves parties and socializing, telephones
a friend who follows Jesus. She is seeking help from ongoing
depression. Anupa calls on the one friend she knows whose
God answers prayer. She had seen this friend's life change
drastically. Anupa's driver drops her at her friend's flat, and in
tears she shares about her ongoing misery. As they talk, Jesus
whispers to this friend, "She needs ME." Born into a Forward
Caste Hindu family, Anupa has heard a lot about Jesus, but
she doesn't know how to follow Him. That day she listens and
prays to the only one who can give her true peace, deliver¬
ance from her depression and much more. Like any newborn,
she is hungry. As she reads her Bible each day, her depression
begins to lift. We thank God for this new sister and pray for her
total freedom as she learns more about Jesus.

she doesn't yet believe
Pashmina {name changed) is stereotypical of her class — her
husband is an executive in his company; they have a nice
house and car; they can send their children abroad for an
education and are able to give their daughter a traditional
wedding. But last year, Pashmina was diagnosed with cancer.
Her year has been full of tears, pain, chemotherapy, surgery,
radiation, hair loss and soul searching.
Before this illness, she was a confident woman so typical
of her Brahmin caste. Now she has become more introspec¬
tive and is looking for salvation now that her mortality seems
so close. As I shared with her the way to salvation, her eyes lit
up. Then she sighed, "But I'm Hindu. I was born a Hindu." Like
so many other Brahmins, Pashmina thinks that Jesus is only
for Western people and doesn't yet believe that Jesus came to
give her salvation, too. Pray for Pashmina.
