Hope for the Aztec people
From the steep slopes of the Sierra Negra to the coast of
Veracruz live the remnants of the once proud and power¬
ful Aztec people. This poor and seemingly forgotten group
lives secluded from Mexico and the rest of the world.
Having a strong belief in ancient traditions,
mixed with elements of the traditional church, \ A

the Gospel. Still primarily
speaking Nahuatl ( NAH-waht ),
the language of the Aztecs, the
people live without God's Word in their language. How¬
ever, there is hope, hope in the promise of God's Word.
'After these things I saw, and behold, a great multitude,
which no man could number, out of every nation and of all
tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne
and before the Lamb, arrayed in white robes, and palms in
their hands; and they cry with a great voice, saying, Salva¬
tion unto our God who sitteth on the throne, and unto the
Lamb" (Revelation 7:9-10, ASV). The hope and promise is
that one day, Aztec believers will stand around the throne
of God and sing praises to our King.
A call to serve among the least reached
Six years ago, in Guatemala City, Guatemala, C and his
wife came to faith in Christ. Wanting to grow and learn
as much as he could about the Lord and His work, C at¬
tended a mission's conference at a local camp. God spoke
to his heart and C felt the call to missions and committed
his life to serve the Lord among the least reached peoples
of our world. On his return home, he shared his call with
his wife. To say the least, it took her a couple
of years to understand and recognize that
,it was not just a feeling C had.

WHO'S MISSING? Even after 2,000 years of Christian
influence, more than 1.5 billion people are still missing out on
the opportunity to hear the Gospel. They are hidden behind
cultural, physical, political and language barriers to a Gospel
witness. Join us and pray for a people group that no one is
trying to reach.

After many conversations and
7 prayer about this call, she felt
God's call as well. They both have been active
witnesses for Christ, disciplers of new believers
and leaders in their church. They also realized that
they needed to gain church-planting experience and began
praying about and searching for a place to serve in Guate¬
mala. A couple of years ago they felt called to Esquipulas in
the department (state) of Chiquimula. They began visiting
and prayerwalking the town, praying for the right time to
move there to plant a church. This year God helped them
start four Bible studies. God has been drawing many to
Himself. They are now committed to moving their family
this year to Esquipulas.
The Gospel's transforming power
Years ago in an Italian immigrant community near
the southern Brazilian megacity of Porto Alegre, a couple
visited their neighbors. The neighbor's son was high on
drugs and brutally murdered the couple. The couple's son,
E, was left orphaned and alone. The sister of the murderer
lived wracked with guilt. Neither of them found any heal¬
ing for their pain or guilt in their entire religious commu¬
nity. Decades later, a group of believers in Jesus from a new
church start sought shelter in a torrential rain storm in E's
shed and led him to salvation and forgiveness. After a year,
E was still the only Christian in his entire county until a
volunteer team sacrificed time and money to hold evange¬
listic home Bible studies in his community. E took one of
the teams to the home of the murderer of his parents. The 4
sister of the murderer who had lived with guilt for so many
years found salva¬
tion and freedom in
Christ! Six people
received Christ that
day, and that night, a
church was born!
