The meeting was opened with prayer led by Brother Prickett.
The minutes of the July meeting were approved as read.
Dr. Maddry reported that three newly appointed couples to Brazil were
unable to sail for their field because of a law in Brazil forbidding the
entry into Brazil of missionaries who do not hold re-entry permits.
Dr. Maddry raised the question of what appropriation should be made for
Japan in the budget for 1942.
On motion of Brother Wood it was voted that $10,000 be set aside in the
appropriations for 1942 earmarked as a provisional Japanese Fund.
Dr. Sadler reported that at the present time we have no missionaries in

will sail from Lisbon for New York this month. He further reported that ten
