Dr. Sadler read the following cablegram/Dr . Rankin and Dr. Cauthen in Shanghai:
"VICTORIES OF CHINESE CHRISTIANS DURING TRAGEDIES OF WAR DEMONSTRATE THAT CHRISTS
GOSPEL CAN SAVE THE WORLD. PRAYING GODS GUIDANCE FOR FOREIGN MISSION BOARD MEETING.
CHINA BAPTISTS SEND GREETINGS. - RANKIN AND CAUTHEN."
Dr. Sadler presented the following report:
REPORT OF SECRETARY FOR AFRICA, EUROPE, AND NEAR EAST - George W. Sadler
When Dr. Rankin left the United States in June, it was our hope that he migit
be able to complete his mission and return in person to report to the Board at
this meeting. At the same time, we recognized the importance of his surveying
thoroughly present needs and future possibilities in China and, if possible, in
Japan, even at the expense of missing these sessions.
