The session was opened with devotional exercises
led by Brother Salle».
Brother J. M. Shelburne was asked to lead a special
prayer for Brother Joshua Levering who was detained at
home by the death of his son.
On motion, the Board sent Brother Levering a wire
expressing our sympathy for him in his sorrow.
The report on Africa was read by Dr. Ray and
adopted as follows:
1. That the Board concurs/in the resolution passed
by the African Mission changing the name of the Mission
from the African Mission of the Southern Baptist Convention,
to that of the American Baptist Mission.
2. That the following missionaries be granted
furlough during 1931:
