Minutes of the October 7, 1889 Foreign Mission Board Meeting

The regular meeting of the Board was held on Monday Oct. 7." at 4 1/2 oclock, P.M. In the absence of the President Dr. Curry was called to the chair, and as the Rec. Sec. was unwell bro. S. C. Clopton was requested to act as Secretary pro. tem. Prayer was offered by bro Clopton. Present, breth. Curry, Tupper, Williams, Matthews [sic], Pollard, Clarke, Winston, Whitfield, Burnett, Cooper, Landrum, Ryland, Hatcher, Thomas, Harris & Hutson. The Treasurer's report was read, and discussed after which prayer was offered by bro. Ryland. Bro. Soper's communication about Mr Arthington's proposition, was referred to Com. on So. Amer. Missions. Bro. Daniel's letter was referred to same Committee. Bro. C. E. Smith's letter was referred to Com. on African Missions
