The Board met in annual session at 9.30 A. M. with
the President presiding.

The tentative program was adopted.
The Executive Secretary, Dr. Maddry, reported on
his visit to the various fields.
The Board entered into the examination of mission¬
aries for appointment.
Miss Sallie James came before the Board for appoint
ment to China. She was accepted.
Miss Frances Hudson was examined for appointment
to China and was accepted.

Vance was examined for appointment to
Yangchow, China, and was accepted.
On the recommendation of the Executive Secretary
the following were also appointed:
Wesley W. Lawton, Jr. .Kaifeng, China, who is al¬
ready on the field, and Rev. Blonnye Foreman, Corrente, Bra¬
zil, already on the field.
Dr. and Mrs. R. E. L. Mewshaw without appearing
before the Board, former missionaries, with the understanding
that the W. M. U. of Texas guarantee their salary and all
expenses for a period of two years.
The Board regrets that it is unable to consider
the appointment of the following:
