Foreign Mission Board Rooms,
October 13th, 1937.
The Foreign Mission Board met in annual session in the Board
Rooms at 9:30 A. M. on October 13th with President Jenkins presiding.
The meeting opened with a thirty minute devotional led by
Brother J. D. Franks.

Dr. Maddry in his report presented the situation of the Board
at home and abroad.
Dr. R. S. Jones, our Home Secretary, made a report of the
plans for bringing out the new foreign mission magazine, to be called
THE COMMISSION. He also gave an account of the work he has been doing.
Dr. George Green, Secretary for Nigeria, brought a report of
the progress of the work in Nigeria. He mentioned the recent outbreak
of yellow fever and the death of Miss Jones and Miss Reagan. He
expressed the hope that conditions would be such following the Southern
Baptist Convention that the Executive Secretary would be permitted to
visit Nigeria.
Miss Inabelle Coleman gave a graphic account of her recent
trip to Europe, especially the situation in Rumania, Hungary, Yugoslavia
and Italy.
After announcement of committees and place and time of meeting
the Board adjourned for lunch with prayer by Brother Willingham of
Missouri.
