Foreign Hiss ion Board Rooms,
November 9, 1939
The Foreign Mission Board met in regularly monthly session at 4:00 P. M.
on November 9th with President Jenkins presiding.
There were present Brethren Jenkins, Adams, Alley, Gwathmey, Bryant,
Harris, Loving, Montague, J. C. Williams, Miss Foster, Mrs. Moore and Mrs.
Atkinson; also Executive Secretary,

Miss Ford; Home Secretary, R. S. Jones; Secretary for the Orient, M. T.
Rankin; Secretary for Africa, Europe and the Hear East, G. W. Sadler; and
Mrs. Sadler.
The meeting was opened with prayer by Dr. Sadler.
On motion of Brother Gwathmey the Board voted to dispense with the
reading of the minutes of the annual meeting in October.
The Executive Secretary, Dr. Maddry, expressed to the Board his appre¬
ciation of the period of rest that was granted him.
On motion of Dr. Maddry it was voted to ask the Board's attorney to
prepare a re solution* authorizing Dr. It. S. Jones to sign notes of the Board,
together with some other officer of the Board.
Dr. Maddry read a letter from Secretary Gerhard Hartman of the American
College of Hospital Administrators telling of the honor conferred upon Dr.
R. E. Beddoe of Wuchovr, China in being elected to a fellowship in this College.
