EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - Baker J. Cauthen
REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE: DIRECTOR
We are thinking today of Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Riggins is a particular manner
because she is entering Riverside Hospital in Newport News for surgery tomorrow
morning, Let us remember them in prayer, both during the time of the operation
and subsequently that she may have full and early recovery in keeping with our
Lord's will. We regret that Mr. Riggins cannot be with us today, but he needs
to be at home in view of this situation.
We are grateful for the excellent work which has been done in recent weeks
with regard to an amendment to the 1978 Foreign Earned Income Act which is
creating a very serious problem for the Foreign Mission Board because the
projected taxation of missionaries will call for a minimum of a million
dollars additional funds.
Mr. Reber, Dr. Crawley, Dr. Ray Spence, Dr. John Alley, and Dr. Joe McKeever
have all done outstanding work in making contacts with essential people in
Washington. Mr. Reber will have more to say about this in his report.
Legislation has been introduced in both houses of Congress with a view to
securing an amendment to the Foreign Earned Income Act of 1978.
