Minutes were read and approved.
The Treasurer presented his monthly report as follows:-

The Cor. Secy. stated that Bro. J. C. Williams had agreed to withdraw his resignation as Treasurer. He also stated that a contribution of $1,000 had been received from a friend in the 1st Church, Baltimore (name not given) to be invested as a permanent fund for the use of the Board. On motion, its investment was referred to the Committee on Finance.
The Sec. further stated that Bro. Powell has reached Saltillo, his field of labor, and that Bro A. T. Hawthorne, our Agent had accompanied him as far as Monterey, where he was detained by illness.
The following Reports were presented and adopted.
The Com'tee on African Missions report. Bro. Eubank and wife arrived safely at Lagos on 15th of August.
Bro David had been quite sick, but wrote on the 31st. of Augt. that he hoped to go the next week into the interior with Bro. Eubank. Bro. David had incurred some extra expenses for the improvement of our property in Lagos, but writes that he will keep within our appropriations for the Mission. Bro. Eubank appeals for four more laborers. The health of the other Missionaries we infer from their reports is good.
The Com'tee on European Missions report that the sickness of Sig. Cocorda, and severe affliction in the family of Sig. Torre have called for expenditures, that were not foreseen
