Prayer by bro. Ryland. Minutes were read and approved.
A Letter was received from Rev. J. Kingdon, also one from Mr. Thomas Alfred Burr of London expressing his willingness to act as permanent agent of the Board. On motion Mr. Burr was unanimously appointed accordingly.
Letters were recvd. from brn. J. E. Dawson, B. F. Tharp, Trimble, Phillips, J. H. Campbell, J. E. Dennard (father of the late missionary) and Cake.
Letter was read from bro. R. H. Graves of Balt. offering his services as a Missionary to Japan, which on motion was referred to the Committee on New Fields.
A communication from bro. W. H. Clarke with reference to the Liberian Missions was referred to the Committee on African Missions, also letters from the Liberian Missions.
The Committee on China Missions offered the following report which was adopted.
