The Foreign Mission Board met in regular monthly session, Tuesday, November 4, 1975,
2:30 p.m., in the Baker James Cauthen Chapel. The President, James G. Harris, presided.

The President called the meeting to order and extended a welcome to those who were
present.
The audience joined in singing the Hymn: "Rescue the Perishing," led by Sidney C. Reber,
director, Mission Support Division.
Mr. Reber led in the opening prayer.
Minutes of the Board for October, 1975, were approved.
The President recognized the Executive Secretary, Dr. Baker J. Cauthen.
Dr. Cauthen made reference to sessions of the Coordinating Committee for Special Study
which had continued from 2:30 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 1975 through Dinner and
adjournment at 7:20 p.m., for the meeting of the Administrative Committee, and sessions
which continued on Tuesday morning, November 4, until 12:00 Noon.
Dr. Cauthen commended the committee most highly for the intensive work in which it had
been engaged.
The writer for the document to be presented to the Missions Challenge Committee, SBC,
Dr. Frank Means, will be preparing a second draft of the material, including revisions
suggested by the committee. This draft would be mailed as soon as possible, to Board
members, looking toward their having in his hands any suggested revisions so that he
may incorporate the changes in a final draft, to be presented for adoption by the
Board at the time of the December meeting, December 9, 1975 , hopefully.
Dr. Cauthen referred to a meeting of the Missions Challenge Committee, SBC, scheduled
to meet on Thursday and Friday, November 6 and 7. This meeting would be attended by
Dr. Cauthen, Dr. Harris and Dr. Clifford along with other Board representatives. Dr.
Cauthen referred to the following items as "10 Mountain Peaks" that had evolved from
the studies:

Widest possible use of Mass Media --

Expansion of Lay Involvement --
4.
New Level of Church Development --
5.
Stress Publication Work --
6.
Expansion of efforts to meet Relief and
Disaster Needs --
7.
Expansion of Medical Work --
8.
Greater emphasis on Theologicsl Studies
and Leadership Training —
