• Dr. Maddry presented the following report on
Pensions and Annuities:
DRAFT OF AGENCY AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE FOREIGN MISSION BOARD
OF THE SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION AND THE RELIEF AND ANNUITY
BOARD OF THE SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION IN CONNECTION WITH
THE ADMINISTRATION OF TIIE PENSION PLAN FOR THE MISSIONARIES
-.OF' THE FOREIGN MISSION BOARD _
WHEREAS, the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist
Convention (hereinafter referred to as the Foreign Mission
Board) at a meeting in Richmond, Virginia, on October 11,1935
adopted a pension plan for the foreign missionaries in the
service of the Board, and
WHEREAS, the Relief and Annuity Board of the Southern Baptist
Convention, (hereinafter referred to as the Annuity Board)
in its capacity as the pension agency of the Southern Bap¬
tist Convention offered to act as agent for the Foreign Mis¬
sion Board, and the Foreign Mission Board has accepted this
offer and has authorized the Annuity Board to act as its
agent in the administration of the pension plan,
NOW, THEREFORE, The Annuity Board and the Foreign Mission
Board have entered into the following agreement:
Article 1.
The Foreign Mission Board hereby authorizes the
Annuity Board to act as agent of the Foreign Mission Board
in the administration of the Pension Plan, a copy of which
is attached hereto and made a part of this agreement.
Article 11.
The Annuity Board agrees to act as agent of the
Foreign Mission Board in the administration of the said
Pension Plan, subject to the provisions of this agreement.
Article 111.
The Foreign Mission Board will furnish to the Annu¬
ity Board, the necessary data relating to each active or
retired missionary, such as: (a) Date of birth; (b) Sex;
(c) Date of entering service of the Foreign Mission Board;
(d) Date of termination or renewal of active service;
(e) Marital condition of the missionary; (f) Stations or
places where service was rendered; together with such
other information as may be properly needed by the Annuity
Board.
This information will be furnished at the outset for
all those in active service or on the present pension list,
and for missionaries entering or reentering service after
the date of this agreement and will be kept up t

date by
the Foreign Mission Board as any changes may occur.
For the purposes of the Pension Plan such members of
the office staff as are approved by the Executive Secretary
shall be classed as missionaries.
Article 1¥,
The Foreign Mission Board will pay over to the
Annuity Board, on or before the 15th day of each month
such amounts as may become due and payable to the Annuity
Board during the current month. The Annuity Board will
administer all sums paid over to it by the Foreign Mission
Board in accordance with the Pension Plan and the terms
