Foreign Mission Board Rooms,
November 12, 1937.
The Foreign Mission Board met in regular monthly session at 3:00 P. M.
on November 12th with Brother Bryant presiding in the place of President
Jenkins who was absent on account of sickness.
There were present Brethren Bryant, Loving, Adams, Gwathmey, Wood,
Miss Foster and Mrs. Atkinson; also Executive Secretary, Dr. Maddry and
Executive Assistant, Miss Ford.
The meeting was opened with prayer.
Dr. Madary read the report of the Midwest Savings and Loan Association
announcing the legacy of Mrs. Mary D. Raymond amounting to $3,800.00 in
full paid certificates. On motion of Brother Gwathmey it was voted that
this legacy be accepted and that a letter of appreciation be written by the
secretary.
On motion of Brother Gwathmey, the letter of the Camp Manufacturing
Company regarding the estate of Robert Stephen, was referred to Brother
Montague, Attorney, to draw the necessary papers.
Dr. Maddry announced that the special offering for the China Emergency
Fund was over $33,600.00.
The report of the Educational Committee was read by Miss Alta Foster
and on motion of Brother Gwathmey was adopted as follows:
EDUCATIONAL That we authorize Miss Coleman to create and publish factoral tracts on
COMMITTEE all countries in which we have work. These will carry statistical facts
previously published in the old CATECHISM plus additional material of in¬
terest to study course classes.
Tract of six pages, 25,000 . $ 173.50
Tract of eight pages, 25,000 . 208.50
Also, a general tract of world facts, 25,000 . 102.50
Also an inexpensive flyer advertising 1937
series. This will be sent out in all letters,
packages, etc., in December and January. We
recommend 100,000 of these.
We recommend that we purchase through the Baptist Book Store in Richmond
the books we receive orders for, which are published by the Sunday School
Board and other publishers. As a business arrangement this will be mutually
satisfactory.

Dr. Maddry announced that subscriptions to the new mission journal,
THE COMMISSION, to be issued by the Foreign Mission Board, were coming in
fine. A letter from Dr. Jones stated that he expected to get several
thousand subscriptions in Texas.
