The President called the meeting to order.
The audience joined in singing the Hymn: "Crown Him with Many Crowns."
Mrs. James A. Ponder, Board member from Florida, read a passage of Scripture
and led in prayer.
Guests were recognized and given a warm welcome. These included Dr. Thompson
Brown, director. Division of International Mission, Presbyterian Church, U.S.A.
Board members who will rotate off membership of the Board at the meeting of
the Southern 3aptist Convention in June, were recognized: Paul Payne, Ohio;
J. D. Ratliff, New Mexico; Harvey Albright, Oklahoma (absent); Paul Crandall,
local Board member.
Minutes of the Board for April 12, 1978 were approved.
The President recognized Rogers M. Smith, administrative associate to the
Executive Director. In the absence of Dr. Cauthen, Dr. Smith brought a brief
report, as follows :
