The Board met on tuesday May 30th 1882, at 4 1/2 oClk P.M.
Present. Brn: Curry, Tupper, Wortham, J. B. Winston, Watkins, Cottrell, Thomas, Hawthorne, Ellyson, Williams, Harris, Clopton, Goddin, Pollard, C. H. Winston & Gwathmey. Prayer by Bro. Clopton. Minutes were read and approved.
Rev. A. T. Hawthorne of Texas was invited to sit with the Board.
The Treasurer presented his monthly report as follows:

The Cor. Sec. stated that members of the Board who attended the Convention had met and conferred with several persons (gentlemen and ladies) with regard to missionary appointment, as had been proposed, but that they deemed it wise to invite only one, Rev. W. D. Powell of Texas, to appear before the Board for examination. He stated further that Bro. Powell had expected to reach the City in time to meet the at this session, but had been unavoidably delayed, and would not be able to reach the City till a late hour this aftn.
On motion, it was agreed to meet again at 9 oclock tomorrow morning, for the purpose of examining Bro. Powell, as a candidate for appointment as a missionary to Mexico.
