The Board met in regular session at 4 P.M.,
the President, Brother Ellyson, being in the chair. The
meeting was opened with prayer by Brother Johnson.

Johnson, Wicker. Also Secretaries Love, Hay and Smith,
Treasurer R. R. Gwathmey, and Asst. Educational Sec¬
retary Purser.
In absence of Recording Secretary Harris,
F. U. Purser acted as Recording Secretary.
Brethren Crump, V/oodf in and Skinner had to
be excused during the meeting on account of previous
engagements.
Report of Treasurer was called for. The
report not being ready, the Board passed on to other
business.

The report of the Comsiittee on China was
read by Brother L. Howard Jenkins, and v/as adopted as
follows :
We recommend:
1. That Rev. T. C. Britton and wife be
grantqd furlough to begin in July 1916, and $560 be ap¬
propriated to pay their traveling expenses. The health
of Brother Britton seems to require this furlough and
the Central China Mission so recommends.
2. That we cannot appropriate $6,000 for
the purchase of land for three residences and additional
ground for Yates academy at Soochow.
3. That we do not grant the request of the
Central China Mission for $7,000 with which to build
three residences at Soochow,
4. That the request for $1,000 (Hex.) be
not granted the Yangchow Station, to be used in assisting
one or more of our churchless congregations in purchas¬
ing lots fir inbuilding churches.
5. That we agree to the following recom¬
mendation made by the East China Mission and the South
China Mission of the Foreign Mission Society of the
Northern Baptist Convention, and subsequently agreed
to by the Trustees of the Shanghai College and our Cen¬
tral China Mission, to wit,-
"To recommend to the East China Mission
and to the Board of Trustees of the Shanghai Baptist
College and Seminary that the articles of cooperation of
