On motion of Brother Wilson, Brother Elly¬
son was chosen President and Brother Harris Recording
Secretary, until our Annual Meeting.
Corresponding Secretary Lore stated the
object of the meeting was to consider the question of
the Board's debt. With this in view he read the resolu¬
tion passed by the Southern Baptist Convention:
"Whereas, for several years there has ex¬
isted an indebtedness on the Foreign Mission Board; and,
Whereas, this increasing indebtedness is
injurious to our work, discreditable to our denomination,
and dishonoring to our Lord; and
Whereas, a considerable amount of money
has been subscribed at this Convention upon said indebt¬
edness, part of which is conditional upon raising the
entire debt;
Therefore he it resolved, First, that we
deem tho liquidation of tills indebtedness to be of urgent
necessity; second, that th,: Foreign Mission Board he in¬
structed to employ such agencies as are necessary to
accomplish this object within the next sixty days; third,
that we request the state mission secretaries to give
their heartiest cooperation to this movement; fourth,
that we pledge ourselves as pastors and laymen to give
our best efforts to this object; fifth, that we ask. the
Woman's Missionary Union to join with us in this campaign."
Brother Love stated that he had prepared
the following literature for use in the campaign: (1) a
printed letter to he sent out to our pastors in the
South, (2) a special letter for pastors in contiguous
3tates urging that they take up this matter immediately ,
( 3 ) a telegram of similar import to pastors in distant
states, (4) a letter to canvassers, (5) a letter to ed¬
itors.
On motion of Brother L. T. Wilson it
was voted that the secretaries he authorized to

the Field Secretaries, the Judson Centennial force, and
such. other workers as may be necessary to prosecute this
work.
On m6tion it was voted that tho expense
for raising the debt come out of the debt fund instead
of being charged to the general expense account of the
Board.
On motion of Dr. R. H. Pitt the following
were appointed
