The meeting was opened with prayer by Dr. Evans.
Mr. Jenkins announced that the minutes of the April meeting were very
long and would bo mailed to each member of the 3oard. On motion of Dr.
Prickett it was voted to dispense with the reading of the minutes.
Dr. Maddry reported that the Executive Committee meeting in Nashville
had approved the Foreign Mission Board's launching a new campaign for World
Emergency Relief, the offering to be taken in July.
Dr. Maddry asked for the privilege of briig.ng eleven more candidates to
the June meeting of the Board for examination looking toward appointment. On
motion of Dr. Adams it was voted to grant this request.
Dr. Sadler reported that there were good prospects of sending a number of
missionaries back to Africa by neutral ships.

RE'PORT
Dr. Rankin reported that the South China Mission was in session and that
he had cabled the missionaries to make a re-study of the salary situation. He
also stated that it is his hope to send twelve or fifteen missionaries to
Free China this war.
On motion of Dr. Loving it was voted to receive and file the report of
$ 590,670.12
