Minutes of the May 19, 1927 Foreign Mission Board Meeting

Board Rooms, May 19 ,1927, (Thursday) The Board met in regular session at 4 P.M. , the President in the chair. The meeting was opened with prayer by Brother Williams. The minutes of previous meetings were read and approved. The following were present: Waite, Gaines, Miss Foster, Cousins, Williams, Storer, Jenkins, Clark, Harr is, Montague. Cecil Moore as Treasurer of the Chilean Mission, be rescinded and Rev. W.Q.Maer be ap¬ pointed Treasurer of the Chilean Mission since Mr. Maer lives in Santiago and it appears better to have the Treasurer located in that city. Mexico. The following on Mexico was read and adopted: 1. that the recommendation of the Execu¬ tive Committee of the Mexican Mission be confirmed to the effect that Mrs. J.S.Cheavens be granted furlough to be¬ gin June 1st. 2. That the resignations of Miss Laura V. Cox and Miss Annie M. Long, missionaries to Mexico, be regretfully accepted, it being understood that Miss Cox' resignation will take effect July 1st, and Miss Long’s on August 1st. Africa, Europe and Hear East — Japan. The following on Japan was read and adopted: That Rev. C.K.Dozier be elected Treasurer of the Japan Mission instead of Rev. G.W.Bouldin who is coming home on furlough. China. The following on China was read and adopted: 1. That the sum of $89.00 be appro¬ priated to help pay the medical bills incurred by Bro. Gordon Poteat in San Francisco where he had to place in the hospital two of his children .who were sick with diptheria. 2. That the extra expenses incurred
