The Board met in regular session in the
Board Rooms at 4 P.M., the President presiding.
Dr. J.B. Webs ter of Shanghai, China, led in
prayer.
The following were present: Gaines, Mali one,
Crump, Wocdfin, Gv/athmey, Wicker, Clark, Williams, Gibson,
Jenkens, Powell,!. Howard Jenkins. Also Secretaries Love
and Ray, Treasurer Sanders, and J.B. Webster of Shanghai.
The minutes of the previous meeting were
read and approved.
Bills — The following bills were reported by the
Corresponding Secretary and were ordered paid:

Moved and adopted that it is the sense of
. the Board that Dr. Love make the contemplated trip to
Brazil.
China — The report of the Committee on China was read
by W.T. Clark and adopted as follows:
WE RECOMMEND :
1. That $145 .00, Mex. , be appropriated to pay
the hospital bill of Cora May, the daughter of C.C. Mar¬
riott of Chinkiung.
2. That $400.00, Mex., be appropriated to cover
medical bills of Mrs. Steele of Shanghai.
3. That we appropriate money sufficient to pay
the salary of Dr. Newman who has been supplying in Dr. Tay¬
lor's place temporarily in the Yangchow Hospital, and that
the question of Dr. Newman's further services in the hospi¬
tal be left open until correspondence -can be had with the
American Baptist Foreign Mission Society.
4. That we express our regret over our inabil¬
ity to appropriate the $12,000.00, Mex., additional asked
for the purchase of land for the church at Yangchow.
. 5. That we approve the request of the Execu¬
tive Committee of Central China that a furlough be granted
Miss Catharine Bryan, to begin at the close of the present
school session.
6. That the request of W.D.Eing that the Board
pay freight expenses on his Ford car to Canton be not
granted.
7. That $350.00, Mex., be appropriated for
the purchase of a safe to be used by the Treasurer of the
Central China Mission.
8. That that portion of the new Hakka program
recently approved by the South China Mission referring to
the removal of the Yingtak Station and the opening of the
new station at Shiu Chow, and the opening of a new station
at Wei Chow, be approved, and consent be given for the
funds alreaay appropriated for special objects at Yingtak
be transferred and used as follows:
