Board. Rooms, Thursday, March £5,1926.
The Board met in called session at 4 P.M. In the
absence nf the President, Brother Clark was called to the
chair.
The meeting was opened with prayer by Brother Waite.
The following were present: Waite , Jenkins , Miss
Poster, Mahone, Clark, Mrs. Moore, Storer, Williams, Harris.
Also Secretaries Love and Ray, and Treasurer Sanders.
The report on the Par Hast was read by Miss Poster,
and was adopted as follows:
1. That $75.00 be appropriated to help Prank
P.Lide meet the expenses incident to a surgical operation
upon Mrs. Lide, this sum being about half the total cost.
2. That the request of Rev. and Mrs. Prank
P. Lide that they be allowed to remain in America until
June 1927, in order that he may complete his course in the
Theological Seminary, be granted, with the understanding
that his furlough allowances will cease at the end of August.
3. That for the reason already given Dr.J.B.
Webster, that the divergence of his views concerning certain
Matters pertaining to the missionary message and policies
of this Board disqualify him for acceptable service under
the appointment of this Board, his appointment as a mis¬
sionary will cease April 30th, 1926, but that the Board will
through consideration for his physical condition continue
his salary through the month of August 1926, and that it
will not be continued thereafter.
The report of the Committee on Home Departments
was read by Brother Jenkins and was adopted as follows:
That Judge S.B. Beard of Shelbyville, Ky. , the
Attorney who is looking after this Board's interest in the
case of the Thomason will, be informed that the Board
accepts the two suggestions which he makes in his letter
of March 20th, namely, that upon receipt of $1,000, a bond
be issued to Mrs. Dora Hall to bear 5^ annual dividend
during her natural life, and second, that instead of issu¬
ing a bond to Mr. Selby Thomason for $1,000, the Board
accept, in lieu thereof ,$400.

The following resolution in place of the report
of the Committee on Europe and Near East was unanimously
adopted :
That a cablegram be sent to Dr .D. G. Whittinghill
informing him that it is impossible for the Board to finance
building operations in Rome or elsewhere now, and that there
is no prospect that it will shortly be able to do so; and
that he do his best to protect the Board's interests and
get as much advantage as possible in a forced sale of prop¬
erty.
Second, that a letter be written him explain¬
ing the Board's financial embarrassment and making the fol¬
lowing suggestions:
1. That Dr. Whittinghill and his commit¬
tee be as watchful as they can be with a view to securing
as large indemnity from the municipality as possible for
that part of the Barbareni block to be expropriated and
marked red on the plat.
2. That if he is forced to sell the sec¬
tion marked in yellow on the plat sent the Board, that he
and his committee do their best to keep the sale of this
in their own hands under the "claim" filed by his lawyer
and explained in the document prepared by him February 26th.
