Minutes of the March 12, 1855 Foreign Mission Board Meeting

A called meeting of the Board was held on monday March 12. at 8 oClock. P. M. Present - brn: Taylor, Manly, Ford, Wood, Snead, Goddin, A. Thomas & Gwathmey. Bro. Manly was called to the chair. Prayer by bro. Ford. Bro. Chas. Wortham being present was invited to a seat. Minutes were read and approved. Letters were received from brn. Cabaniss, Burton, Clark [sic], B. T. F. Cake Trimble & Phillips. On motion brn. Trimble & Philips [sic] were instructed to make arrangements to sail for their field of labor in Oct. next, and bro. Trimble requested to take suitable steps to raise the money to pay off his indebtedness at the earliest practicable day. Letters from brn. Kingdon and Day were referred to the Comtee. on African Missions. A letter was received from bro. P. S. Bush of Covington Ky. in reference to a legacy by his daughter Mrs. Sally P. Paxton, to the S. B. Convention for For. Missions. The Comtee. on Agencies offered a report which was adopted in part as follows, and then laid on the table. Resd. that Rev. J. L. Pritchard be appointed to visit the Chowan Association, to solicit funds for the Board, for one
