Minutes of the March 11, 1874 Foreign Mission Board Meeting

A called meeting of the Board was held on Wedy. March 11th at 4 oclock P.M. Present. Brn. Curry Bitting, Tupper, Wortham, Evans, Ellyson, Keesee, Wilson, Dickinson, Harris, Clarke, Watkins, C. H. Winston, & Gwathmey. Bro. Bitting in the Chair. Prayer by Bro. Ellyson. Brn. E Harrison & Jos. Ryland were invited to seats. A letter was read from Bro. Geo. B. Taylor, asking further instruction as to the purchase of a Chapel in Rome, which on motion, was referred to the Com'tee on European Missions. The Treasurer stated that he had in accordance with the instructions of the Board at the last meeting borrowed the sum of $7,000 from the 1st Nat. Bank of Richmond, which had been placed to the credit of the Rome Chapel fund. The special Comtee appointed at the Feby meeting presented the following additional report, which was adopted.
