Foreign Mission Board Rooms,

.The Foreign Mission Board met in regular monthly session at 4:00 P. M.
with President Jenkins presiding.
The meeting was opened with prayer by Brother Matthews :
The following members were present: Brethren Jenkins, Montague, Gaines,
Adams, Williams, Loving, Matthews, Bryant, Mrs. Atkinson, Mrs. Wicker and
Miss Foster; also Executive Secretary, Dr. Maddry, Executive Assistant, Miss
Ford and Treasurer, Mr. Buxton.
Secretary Maddry read the resignations of the following missionaries
of ' the Board; Miss Helen Yates of China. ,' Misses
Maude Cobb and Ruth Mahan of Hungary, and Dr. and Kirs. Leonard Long of
Africa. Upon motion their resignations were accepted with regret.
Miss Ford made a report relative to the status of our missionaries in
China.
Secretary Maddry asked that a special committee of five be appointed
to consider the question of our Board’s having a representative at the
Madras conference in December, and that they report to the May meeting of
the Board. President Jenkins appointed the following as this committee:
Dr. T. F. Adams, chairman , Rev. Wade Bryant, Dr. W. A. Harris, Dr. S. B.
Cousins and Mrs. J. J. Wicker, Jr.
Secretary Maddry recommended that Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Craighead of
Bessarabia, who are now in this country, be brought to Richmond in May with
a view to their appointment as missionaries of the Board. The recommendation
was approved. The appointment of certain other missionaries was reco~mended
provided their salaries and expenses were guaranteed.
The treasurer's report was approved as follows:
