The Board met on Monday, March 1st. at 7 1/2 oClock P. M. Present - brn. Howell, Taylor, Kingsford, Ryland, Bickford, A Thomas, Crane, Snead, Barns [sic], Ellyson, C. T. Wortham, Talman, Walthall, and Gwathmey. Prayer by bro. Crane. Minutes read and approved. The Treasurer reported the rects of past month at $879.33.

The annual report of Rev. Wm. M. Farrar, agent in Mississippi, for the past year was received - also a letter from him declining re-appointment as agent. but suggesting Rev. John Micou as a suitable person for the agency.
On motion, bro. Micou was appointed as suggested.
A communication from Rev. J. P. Boyce clerk of the Charleston Association of S. C. stated that they have adopted Bro. B. W. Whilden, and will support him as their Missionary under the direction of this Board.
A letter was received from Wm. C. Adams, Admr. of John Conaly of Fluva. Co. Va., with reference to a legacy to the "For. Missy. Socty," which was referred to the Cor. secy.
A letter from Mrs. Martha Levere of New Haven was recvd, enclosing a bill against bro. J. C. Phelps - on motion, the cor. secy was instructed to inform her the Mr. P. has been dismissed from the service of the service of the [sic] Board, and is himself indebted to them.
On motion, bro. Ryland was excused from serving upon the Comtee. to examine essays for the premium offered by Miss. Lea, and brn. Howell and Kingsford added to the committee.
The special com'tee appointed at last meeting reported, and were discharged. The report was adopted as follows.
"The special com'tee to whom were referred communications from bro. I. J. Roberts and others, have maturely considered the subject they embrace, and report - Your Com'tee advise the Board to re-consider its action by which bro. Roberts was dismissed from your service as a Missionary. We advise nothing as to whether he shd. be retained, but we think a re-investigation and decision, with all the testimony now before you, necessary, in justice to him, that you may not be charged with having acted upon ex parte evidence, and to protect yourselves from any charges on those subjects which may hereafter be brought against the Board."
