Foreign Mission Board Rooms,
June 8th, 1939
The Foreign Mission Board net in regular monthly session at 4:00 P. I/!,
on June 8th, with President Jenkins presiding.
The neeting was opened with prayer by Dr. Sadler.
The following members were present: Brethren Gwuthney, Jenkins, Coleman,
Loving, Bryant, Williams and Alley; Mrs. 'Wicker, Miss Foster, Mrs. Atkinson;
also Executive Secretary, Dr. Maddry; Executive Assistant, Miss Ford;
Treasurer, Mr. Buxton; and Secretary for Africa, Europe and the Rear East,
Dr. Sadler.
The minutes of the meeting on May 11th were read and approved.
Dr. Maddry presented to the Board Miss Willie Kate Baldwin, and after
examination and consideration, it was voted to appoint her as a missionary
to Nigeria.
The resignation of Dr. S. B. Cousins as a local member of the Board
was accepted, and the matter of filling his place was referred to the
Administrative Committee.
The Board’s medical advisor, Dr. Loving, recommended that Dr. Maddry
be granted a two months’ vacation, beginning June 15th. This recommendation
was passed.
