Foreign Mission Board Rooms
June 6, 1940
The Foreign Mission Board met in regular monthly session on Thurs¬
day, June 6th, with President Jenkins in the chair.
The following- were present: Brethren Jenkins, Bryant, Gwathmey,
R. .A. Williams, Matthews, Coleman, Harris, Montague, Loving, Adams, J. C.
Y.illiams, and Mrs. Atkinson; also Executive Secretary, Dr. Maddry; Secretary
for Africa, Europe and the hear East, Dr. Sadler; Secretary for the Orient,
Dr. Rankin; and Treasurer, Mr. ' uxton.
Rev. Robert A. Dyer, missionary to Japan, was a visitor at the
meeting.
The meeting was opened with prayer by Brother R. A. V.illiams.
The minutes of the May meeting of the Board were approved as read.
Dr. Maddry reported that a cable had been received from President

of the girls’ school in Kokura, Japan announcing that 531 girls had
surrendered themselves to Christ in the 50th Anniversary revival services;
a letter from Mrs.

K. Dozier reported a similar spiritual revival in the
boys' school in Fukuoka.
Dr. Maddry presented to the Board an appeal from the British For¬
eign Mission Society to the Northern and Southern Boards to take over the
support of the British missionaries during these war times. On motion of
Brother Adams the Board voted to ask the Executive Secretary to symoatheti-
cally lay the matter before the Convention.
