Foreign Mission Board Rooms
June 13, 1946
The Foreign Mission Board met in regular monthly session at 4:00 P.!'. on
Thursday, June 13, 1946, -with Mr. Jenkins presiding.

The minutes of the May meeting were read.
Dr. Rankin reported that he and Dr. Cauthen expect to arrive in San Francisco
on June 24th ready to leave by plane for China when space is available. Fe stated
that no definite steps would be taken with reference to the selection of a pro¬
motional secretary until his return.

On motion of Dr. Adams it was voted that funds being raised in the 3,500, 000
camp a in for relief and rehabilitation be held in a special account; that an
initial allocation of v 1,000,000 be made to the bar Emergency Council which will
continue to serve as the relief committee of the Board; and that the balance be
administered by the Foreign . Fission Board for rehabilitation.

Dr. Rankin read a Statement of Board Policy prepared by Dr. Gill.
On motion of Mr. Williams it was voted that a cooy of this statement be sent to
each member of the Board and that it be referred to a coonittee made up of the
chairmen of t e three regional committees. The members of the Board are asked to
exnress themselves on the subject before the meeting of the committee and the
committee is asked to bring the matter to the next meeting of the Board.
Dr. Rankin read a resolution prepared by the San Antonio Ba tist Association
' protesting requirements of the Forei' n Mission Board for missionary appointment.
On motion of Mr. Rudd it was voted to receive and file the resolution and to
say that the Board will rive consideration to it.
Dr. Sadler reported brioflv on the special meeting of the Executive Committee
of the Convention.

Dr. Sadler stated that it had "been necessary to commit Ra-”- Ingram, missionary
to Nigeria, to a private sanitarium in Asheville and that for a period of two
weeks there were bills amounting to 339.00. Or. motion of r. Gwathmey it was
voted to pay 300 on t’ ese bills.
