A Commissioning Service, for Missionary Journeymen, was held in the Chapel of the
Foreign Mission Board, Richmond, Virginia 7:30 p.m. , July 28, 1972, with J. Roy
Clifford, chairman of the Personnel Committee, presiding.
Mr. Samuel A. Choy and Miss Mary Anne Ramsey served as Chorister and Pianist,
respectively.
The service opened with the Hymn: "Lead On, 0 King Eternal."
Mr. Mac Powers read a passage of Scripture and led in prayer.
Rev. Louis R. Cobbs, secretary for the Board's department of missionary personnel,
gave an interpretation of the Journeyman Program and introduced Dr. Stanley A. Nelson,
associate secretary for missionary personnel.
Dr. Nelson reported on the Journeyman Training Program for 1972.
Dr. Meredith K. Roberson, member of the Committee on Missionary Personnel, gave the
report of the committee.
The audience joined in singing the Hymn: "0 Master, Let Me Walk with Thee."
Dr. Stanley A. Nelson gave a Charge to Parents of Missionary Journeymen.
Special Music - "So Shall My Word Not Return to Me Void" - was rendered by the
Journeyman Choir .

Mr. Samuel Choy led in the Commitment of Missionaries.
Dr. Baker J. Cauthen delivered the Charge to the Missionary Journeymen.
Commissioning Certificates were presented to the sixty-six missionary journeymen,
assigned to 29 countries.
Mr. Don A. Reavis gave the Prayer of Dedication.
The Missionaries' Response: "One in the Spirit" was rendered by the Journeyman
Choir.
The audience joined in singing the closing Hymn: "Saviour, Like a Shepherd Lead us."
Guests were recognized by Mr. Louis R. Cobbs.
Dr. Jesse C Fletcher pronounced the Benediction.
A fellowship period for the journeymen and their families was held in the Foreign
Mission Board snack room following the Commissioning Service.
