A Commissioning Service, for Missionary Journeymen, was held in the Chapel of the
Foreign Mission Board, Richmond, Virginia 7:30 p.m. , July 27, 1973, with Austin
W. Farley, first vice-president of the Foreign Mission Board, presiding.
Mr. Zeb Moss and Miss Elena Atkinson served as Chorister and Pianist, respectively.
The service opened with the Hymn: "God of Grace ard God of Glory."
Miss Darlene McKinnon read a passage of Scripture and led in prayer.
Rev. Louis R. Cobbs, secretary for the Board's department of missionary personnel,
explained the Journeyman Program briefly and introduced Dr. Stanley A. Nelson,
associate secretary for missionary personnel.
Dr. Nelson gave a report on the Journeyman Training Program for 1973.
Dr. Meredith K. Roberson, member of the Committee on Missionary Personnel, gave the
report of the committee.
The audience joined in singing the Hymn: "0 Master, Let Me Walk with Thee."
Dr. Stanley A. Nelson gave a Charge to Parents of Missionary Journeymen who were
being commissioned .
Special music - "Ye Shall be Witnesses" - was rendered by the Journeyman Choir.

Mr. Zeb Moss led in the Commitment of Missionaries.
Dr. Baker J. Cauthen delivered the Charge to the Missionary Journeymen.
Commissioning Certificates were presented to the seventy-five missionary journeymen.
Mr. Bob Shoemake gave the Prayer of Dedication.
The Missionaries Response: "All of my Tomorrows," was given by the journeymen.
The audience joined in singing the closing Hymn: "God Who Touchest Earth With
Beauty. "
Guests were recognized by Mr. Louis R. Cobbs.
Dr. Jesse C. Fletcher pronounced the Benediction.
A briefing for the parents of Journeymen was held in the chapel following the
service .
The Journeymen met for a period of fellowship in the Board's parlor following the
Commissioning Service.
