A Commissioning Service, for Missionary Journeymen, was held in the Baker James
Cauthen Chapel of the Foreign Mission Board, Richmond, Virginia, 7:30 p.m., July 26,
1974. Robert B. Bass, first vice-president of the Board, presided.
Mr.,Mell Plunk and Mrs. Neil Sherouse served as Chorister and Pianist, respectively.
The service opened with the Hymn: "0 Zion, Haste."
Miss Martha Perry read a passage of Scripture and led in prayer.
Rev. Louis R. Cobbs, secretary for Missionary Personnel, explained briefly the
Missionary Journeyman Program and introduced Dr. Stanley A. Nelson, associate sec¬
retary for Missionary Personnel.
Dr. Nelson reported on the Journeyman Training Program for 1974.
Dr. J. Roy Clifford, chairman of the Committee on Missionary Personnel, gave a report
from the Committee.
The audience joined in singing the Hymn: "God of Grace and God of Glory."
A Charge to Parents of Journeymen was given by Dr. Jesse C. Fletcher.
The Journeyman Choir rendered special music: "He Lives Today."

Mr. Mell Plunk led in the Commitment of Missionaries.
Dr. Baker J. Cauthen, the executive secretary, delivered the Charge to the Missionary
Journeymen.
Dr. Cauthen presented Commissioning Certificates to the 77 missionary journeymen
who were presented.
Mr. Billy Kruschwitz gave the Prayer of Dedication.
The Missionaries' Response: "Ye Shall Be Witnesses," was given by the journeymen.
The audience joined in the Hymn: "Jesus Shall Reign Where'er the Sun."
Guests were recognized by Rev. Louis R. Cobbs.
Mr. Jerry Jones pronounced the Benediction.
A briefing for the parents of Journeymen was held in the Chapel following the
service.
The Journeymen met for a period of fellowship in the Board's parlour following
the Commissioning Service.
