Dr. Rankin read a cablegram from the Argentine Mission requesting $4,791.81 for the
Training School building in Buenos Aires, this amount having already been appropriated
and invested in bonds. On motion of Mr. Montague it was voted that $4,791.81 for the
Training School building in Buenos Aires be taken out of current funds waiting invest¬
ment and that the securities be left intact.
Dr. Rankin read requests from the North Brazil Mission for appropriations which had
come to his attention after the meeting of the Administrative Committee;- namely,
§4,000.00 for the purchase of a residence in Maceio, Brazil to be added to $5,000.00
appropriated for this purpose in 1943 and $2,000.00 for the expenses of representa¬

On motion of Dr. Adams it was voted to make appropriations of $4,000.00 and §2,000.00

Dr. Sadler reported that Miss Lena Lair and Miss Amanda Tinkle are being invalided

return to her work in Hungary. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Roberson were examined in Richmond
and the Administrative Committee is recommending that they be sent to Nigeria as con¬
tract teachers in the school at Iwo. There are a number of missionaries returning
to Nigeria at the present time.
Dr. Williams reported that consideration is being given to the possibility of sending
two or three missionaries to China to work with UNRRA.. Dr. C. L. Culpepper has left
for China where he will work as a liaison officer.
Dr. Marshall said that he is encouraged by the responses from volunteers, many of
whom are from Virginia.
Dr. Routh told of a gift sent by the mother of a man who was killed in the Pacific as
a memorial to her son. Such stories sent to our papers are of interest to the readers.
