A Commissioning Service, for Missionary Journeymen, was held in the Baker James
Cauthen Chapel of the Foreign Mission Board, Richmond, Virginia, 7:30 p.m.,
July 25, 1975. J. Roy Clifford, first vice-president of the Board, presided.
Mr. Lawrence E. Rice and Miss Karen Ballard served as Chorister and Pianist,
respectively.
The service opened with the Processional: "God of Grace and God of Glory."
Guests were recognized by the presiding officer.
Miss A. Grace Jennings read a passage of Scripture and led in prayer.
The journeymen rendered a special number: "He Lives Today."
Rev. Louis R. Cobbs, secretary for Missionary Personnel, explained briefly the
Missionary Journeyman Program, from its inception in 1965, and introduced Stanley
A. Nelson, associate secretary for Missionary Personnel who gave a report on the
Training Program for 1975.
Franklin D. Hall, a local Board member gave a report from the Committee on
Missionary Personnel.
The congregation joined in singing the Hymn: "In Christ There Is No East or West.
A Charge to Parents of Journeymen was given by Stanley A. Nelson.

The Journeymen rendered special music:
"On a Journey" and "Disciples Prayer."
Jeannie Mallow Orr led in the Commitment of the Missionary Journeymen.
Dr. Baker J. Cauthen, the executive secretary, delivered a Charge to the
Missionary Journeymen.
Dr. Cauthen presented Commissioning Certificates to the 80 Journeymen.
R. Allen Orr led in a Prayer of Dedication.
The Journeymen responded with a musical number: "Upon This Rock."
Larry E. Davis pronounced the Benediction.
Following the Commissioning Service, a briefing for parents of Missionary
Journeymen was held in the Chapel.
Journeymen met following the service, for fellowship in the Board parlour.
