A Commissioning Service, for Missionary Journeymen, was held in the Bon Air
Baptist Church, Bon Air, Virginia, 7:30 p.m., July 22, 1976. J. Roy Clifford,
first vice-president of the Board, presided.
Mr. Bruce Clark served as Chorister, Miss Jeane Acuff as Pianist and Miss
Patricia Vestal as Organist.
The service opened with the Processional: "God of Grace and God of Glory."
Guests were recognized by the presiding officer.
Dr. Paul Crandall, local Board member, read a passage of Scripture and led in
prayer.
The Missionary Journeymen rendered a special number: "i'll Tell the World."
Mel Torstrick, associate secretary for Missionary Personnel, introduced the
Journeyman Training Program. Stanley A. Nelson, associate secretary for
Missionary Personnel, brought a report of the Training Program for 1976.
Franklin Hall, local Board member, gave a response from the Committee on
Missionary Personnel.
The audience joined in singing the Hymn: "In Christ There Is No East or West."
Dr. Stanley Nelson, of the Board staff, brought a Charge to the Parents of the
Missionary Journeymen.
Arville Senter led in the Commitment of the Missionary Journeymen.
Davis L. Saunders, secretary for Eastern and Southern Africa, gave a Charge to
the Missionary Journeymen.
Commissioning Certificates were presented.
Billy Kruschwitz, regional personnel representative, led in the Prayer of
Dedication.
Robert B. Bass, local Board member, pronounced the Benediction.
Following the Commissioning Service, a briefing for parents of Missionary
Journeymen was held in the front of the Sanctuary.
Following the entire service, the Journeymen met for a period of fellowship.
