A Commissioning Service, for Missionary Journeymen, was held in the Bon Air Baptist
Church, Bon Air, Virginia, 7:30 p.m. , July 21, 1978. J. Roy Clifford, local Board
member, presided.
Mr. Randy Von Kanel served as Chorister, Miss Loretta Reynolds as Pianist and Miss
Juanita Smoot as Organist.
The Service opened with the Processional Hymn: "God of Grace and God of Glory."
Guests were recognized by the presiding officer.
Carlton E. Walker, former missionary journeyman, read a passage of Scripture and
led in prayer.
The Missionary Journeymen rendered a special number: "0 Zion Haste."
Louis R. Cobbs, secretary for Missionary Personnel, introduced the Journeyman
Training Program. Stanley A. Nelson, associate secretary for Missionary Personnel,
brought a report of the Training Program for 1978. Robert B. Bass, local Board
member, brought a response from the Committee on Missionary Personnel.
The audience joined in singing the Hymn: "In Christ There is no East or West."
Stanley Nelson, of the Board staff, brought a Charge to the Parents of the Mis¬
sionary Journeymen.

The Missionary Journeymen rendered another special number: "Ye Shall Be Witnesses."
H. Earl Bengs, missionary to Malaysia-Singapore , led in the Commitment of Missionary
Journeymen.
R. Keith Parks, director of the Mission Support Division, gave a Charge to the
Missionary Journeymen.
Norma (Mrs. Stanley) Nelson and Sherry Bengs, missionary to Malaysia-Singapore,
presented Commissioning Certificates to the new Missionary Journeymen.
Jenny H. Jones, directress of training, led in the Prayer of Dedication.
Jerry D. Jones, director of training, pronounced the Benediction.
Following the Commissioning Service, a briefing for parents of Missionary Journeymen
was held in the front of the sanctuary.
Following the entire service, the Journeymen met for a period of fellowship in the
fellowship hall of the Bon Air Baptist Church.
