ing from the Board due to his moving from Indiana to take a pastorate in Kentucky,

Dr. Cauthen filed the following report of the Executive Secretary.
REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY
Since the last meeting of the Board a very intensive period of work has been experi¬
enced. The Conference for Furloughing missionaries, the Southern Baptist Convention,
the Foreign Missions Week in Ridgecrest, the meeting of the Baptist World Congress,
the Missionary Consultation in Miami Beach, the summer training for Missionary
Journeymen and the Orientation for outgoing new missionaries have all been experi¬
enced during this time. The thoroughness with which responsibilities related to all
these meetings have been discharged by members of the Board and staff gives occasion
for expressing the deep appreciation we all feel to the body of men and women who
labor together so effectively in the cause of our Lord
Those who have shared in all of these meetings are impressed by the depth of concern
in the hearts of Baptist people both in this country and throughout the world for a
greater outreach of Christian witness in the days ahead. There is a spirit of ad¬
vance. A great tide of missionary concern is moving and we have reason to believe
God is at work among us pointing toward significant days ahead.
