Board Rooms, July 15th, 1937.
The Board met in regular session at 4:00 P, M, on July 15th
with President L. Howard Jenkins presiding.
The meeting was opened with prayer by Dr. Loving.
There were present Brethren Coleman, Loving, Matthews, Bryant,
Montague, Gwathmey, Jenkins, Williams, Harris and Mrs. Wicker; also
Executive Secretary, Dr. Maddry, Home Secretary, Dr. Jones, Treasurer,
!| Mr. Buxton, Educational Secretary, Mr. Bowen and Dr. C. G. McDaniel of
China.
Dr. Maddry reported the death of Miss Welle Putney of China on
March 31, Mis sionary A. L. Dunstan of Pelotas, Brazil, on June 2nd,
Miss Frances Jones of Obgomoso, Nigeria, West Africa, on June 26th, ‘
Miss Lucile Reagan, of Lagos, Nigeria, West Africa on July 12th, and *
of Aileen Ray, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Hermon Ray, of Tokyo, Japan.
On motion the following committees were appointed to prepare
suitable resolutions on these deaths: for Miss Putney and Aileen Ray,
Dr. W. A. Harris, Dr. S. B. Cousins and Mrs. Simeon Atkinson; for
Misses Jones and Reagan, Dr. T. F. Adams, Dr. S. T. Matthews and Mrs.
Carrie W. Moore; and for Rev. A. L. Dunstan, Dr. R. A. Williams, Dr.
J. L. Slaughter, and Mrs. J. J. Wicker, Jr.,
On motion, Brethren M. T. Rankin, W. B. Johnson and J. H. Wiley
were appointed to represent our Board as proxies on the property hold¬
ing committee for the True Light Building in Shanghai, China.
On motion the following were voted to appear before the Board
in October for appointment:
