REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY
Mrs. Cauthen and I greatly regret to miss this meeting of the Board, particularly
since new missionaries are being appointed. We wish for them every blessing of
our Lord as they lay hand to the great task before them. We are grateful to God
for their dedication and for the indications of many more servants of God who are
in preparation for work on mission fields.
Recent weeks have been filled with important meetings. The prayers of the Board
members and friends of foreign missions everywhere for the Foreign Missions Night
at the Convention in San Francisco were deeply appreciated. We felt on that even¬
ing the power of prayer and thanked God for His blessings.
The Conference for Furloughing Missionaries held prior to the Convention in San
Francisco and the Orientation Conference for Outgoing New Missionaries conducted
at Mars Hill, North Carolina, were valuable experiences and will bring forth much
fruit in the lives of God's servants.
In many respects the Foreign Missions Conference at Ridgecrest was one of the best
we have ever had. The excellent attendance, deep spirit throughout the conference,
many dedications made in response to invitations, both on Sunday and in other serv¬
ices, gave indication of God's leadership. One of the finest period of fellowship
is that of the Missionary Lawn Party when the missionaries in costume are greeted
by so many friends.
We look forward to the meeting of the Board in Glorieta with much anticipation.
Not only will the meeting be significant from the standpoint of the appointment
