The Foreign Mission Board met in regular monthly session, Tuesday, July 10,
1979, 3:00 p.m., in the Baker James Cauthen Chapel. John W. Patterson,

The President called the meeting to order.
The audience joined in singing the Hymn: "Rejoice, Ye Pure in Heart," led
by Sidney C. Reber.
Joe E. Trull, Board member from Texas, read a passage of Scripture and led
in Prayer.
The President welcomed Board members and guests, including: James McKinnon,
newly elected Board member from New Mexico; A1 Finch, newly elected Board
member from Alabama; Drew J. Gunnells and family, former member of the Board
and President of the Board for two years; and guests from the state student
department in Texas.
Minutes of the Board for May 8, 1979 were approved.
The President recognized the Executive Director, Baker J. Cauthen.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - Baker J. Cauthen
Dr. Cauthen called Charles Beckett, manager of Student Nurture Section,
to the platform and presented a 15-year service pin.
Dr. Cauthen referred to action of the Board taken in April 1979, during the
meeting in Kansas City. This action dealt with the Missionary Pension Plan.
Dr. Cauthen stated that, in the light of that action, he felt that a more
elaborate explanation of what was involved in the action would be in order
in the Permanent Records of the Board. He read the following:
MISSIONARY PENSION PLAN
At the April meeting of the Board in Kansas City, the Committee on
Missionary Pension Plan presented two recommendations to the Administrative
Committee which were adopted and then recommended to the Board in the report
of the Administrative Committee and approved as follows:
