On motion, the report of the Com: in case of Bro: Allen, laid on the table, was taken up, and, on motion, it was again laid on the table.

The following resolutions were adopted,
Resolved, That this Board have heard with deep regret of the sudden death of Rev. W. J. Armstrong, D.D. one of the Secretaries of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions, and that we regard this mysterious providence, which has removed him from the field of his labors, as adapted to awaken our liveliest Christian sympathies for the brethren with whom he was associated in the cause of Foreign Missions, and for his bereaved family; and we do hereby tender to them our affectionate Christian regards, and earnestly pray that this affliction may be so overruled by the King of Zion as to promote the cause of missions, and that God may be the Protector of his family.
Resolved, That the Cor: Sec: be directed to communicate a copy of the above resolution to the Am: Board of Com: for For: Miss: and also to Mrs. Armstrong.
On motion, the following resolutions were laid on the table,
