Report of the Executive Secretary
January 13, 1976
At the meeting of the Board today, we are hopeful of bringing to completion
the preparation of our statement of advanced plans for the next twenty-
five years.
This study has been long and comprehensive involving leadership groups
in the Southern Baptist Convention, a missions consultation involving
three hundred people from all over the world and a year-long study on
mission fields of plans for the future. The Board has organized itself
into thirteen study groups and has given months of careful study to this
important subject. In the December meeting of the Board we gave a first
review of the findings, and today's meeting is expected to bring it to
finality. The Coordinating Committee has worked with great diligence,
and they have done much to make this completion a possibility.
On January 26 and continuing through January 28, the Missions Challenge
Committee will meet in Nashville. This committee is composed of repre¬
sentatives from the Foreign Mission Board, the Home Mission Board and
