REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY
At the close of 1967 the Foreign Mission Board received through the Cooperative
Program the sum of $646,536.10 for advance. These funds represent two-thirds of
the money received through the Cooperative Program after the Southern Baptist Con¬
vention Budget had been reached.
These funds are being earmarked for appropriation as follows: Latin America, $200,000;
Orient, $200,000; Africa, $100,000; Europe and the Middle East, $100,000; Special
Projects in Evangelism and Church Development, $46,536.10.
It is impossible to say how much these funds will mean in the furtherance of mis¬
sion work. The way they are eagerly being awaited is demonstrated by the fact that
Dr. Goerner today is recommending the appropriation of more than $84,000 of these
funds for urgent needs in Africa.
One particular significance has been the fact that through these funds, many of the
advance projects in Evangelism and Church Development throughout the world have been
made possible.
We are grateful that in the next three years such projects will take place in 74
countries. The acceleration of our efforts in evangelism through these projects
has been notable and we are grateful to our Lord for what is being accomplished in
His name.
At this season, we are hearing many splendid reports of the Lottie Moon Christmas
Offering. It is still too early to have any idea about the amount that will be re-
