Minutes of the February 17, 1927 Foreign Mission Board Meeting

--67- Board. Rooms, Feb. 17, 1927. (Thursday) A called meeting of the Board was held today at 4 P.M. with the President in the chair. Dr. Love .stated the call for the meeting. It was stated that the Committee and Dr. Love were not in accord as to the type of man we need for Treasurer and the details of business management of the Board, and, as agreement could not be reached, it was decided to pass the whole natter to the Board for their decision without recommendation. The following motion, of fered by Brother V/oodfin, was adopted: Resolved , that the Committee on Home Departments with Secretary Love be requested to nominate to the Board at a meeting to be called at as early a date as possible a suitable man for Treasurer of the Board. The following resolution, offered by Brother '.Voodfin, was adopted: Resolved , that a committee of five be appointed to consider what changes, if any, are necessary in defining the duties , responsibilit ies , and powers of the various officers of the Board, and make recommendations in relation to these matters to this Board at as early a date as possible. Committee- B.M.Gwathney ,L.li. Jenkins , Mrs. Julian Thomas , Kill Montague , S. 3. Woodfin. The following was also adopted: Voted, that Mr. Hill Montague is authorized to act for the Foreign Mission Board, Southern Baptist Convention, in the John Sellers case as his judgment may dictate.
