The Board met in regular session at the above
date instead of later on account of the imminent departure
of Dr. Love for South America on tomorrow, Jan. 1st. *
The President presided.
Present: Montague, Gaines, Williams,, Jenkins,
Cousins, Moore, Gwathmey, Powell, Harris, alffo Secretaries
Love and Ray.
The meeting was opened with prayer by Brother
Williams.
On motion the following resolution was passed
•after full discussion:
That the Board say to the Christian and
Missionary Alliance that the matter in recent conference
concerning the transfer of the Alliance work in Argentina
to this Board has received the attention of this Board,
and that the following is the decision of the Board:
That the Board warmly appreciates
the attitude which the_ Alliance missionaries in Argentina
have taken consistently toward sound views of evangelical
truth, the harmony of their work with the work of this Board1 s
missionaries, and the willingness of the Alliance to trans¬
fer its work to this Board under terms mutually agreeable
and satisfactory to the missionaries of the Alliance and
of this Board in Argentina;
But that the finances of this
Board do not justify it in enlarging its obligations at
present.

After discussion the following resolution
In view of the action taken by the Gen¬
eral Missionary Society of the German Baptist churches of
North America in entering the territory which the London
Conference of 1920 allocated to this Board, and in which
this Board has been cooperating with the several Baptist
groups and nationalities, and in view of the further fact
that the General Missionary Society of the German Baptist
churches of North America has declined to ratify, the agree¬
ment reached between the General Secretary of that Society
and a Committee of this Beard whereby it was proposed to
establish amicable cooperative relations between this Board
and the said Society for the care of our German Baptist
brethreh and others in the territory in question; and in
view of the further fact that the German brethren with whom
the General Missionary Society of the German Baptist churches
of North America is thus establishing relationship indepen¬
dent of this Board, are proposing to revive the Southeast
Europe Baptist Association against the judgment and advice
of this Board, its European Representative Dr. Everett Gill,
and others, and whereas this Board and its workers are by
such procedures liable to suffer embarrassment in its coop¬
erative work, hurtful consequences to its program of uni¬
fication in the respective countries of Europe concerned,
and whereas further, there is liable to arise a misinterpre¬
tation by certain European governments of the reorganiza¬
tion of a German Southeast Baptist Union, therefore,
RESOLVED, that this Board refer this
whole matter to the Executive Committee of the Baptist
World Alliance with request that it give to all parties con¬
cerned the benefit of its mature and impartial opinion on
the facts and case as recited.
