Minutes of the December 27, 1865 Foreign Mission Board Meeting

A called meeting of the Board was held on 27th. Dec. at 4 oC. P.M. Present. Brn: Jeter, Taylor, Burrows, E. Wortham, Snead, Goddin, Fox, Williams, A. G. Wortham, C. T. Wortham & Evans. In the absence of the Rec. Sec., bro. Evans was appointed p. temp. The Cor. Sec. stated the object of the meeting, and offered the following preamble and resolutions, which were adopted. Whereas in consequence of the condition of the country, the S. B. Convention failed to hold its regular Bi-ennial meeting in May last; and whereas it is deemed by it Boards of the utmost importance to hold a meeting at an early day, Therefore, Resolved that in accordance with a wish expressed by the Domestic Mission Board, the President of the Convention, be authorised to call a meeting to be held at
