.The report of the Committee on China was read
>y Brother L.H. Jenkins and adopted as follows:
1. That $50 (Mex.) per month be appropriated
to provide the salary of a man to teach in the Chinkiang
school.
2. That $850 (Mex.) be -appropriated to make
up a deficit incurred in erecting the buildings on the
Compound at Laiyang, the Executive Committee of the North
China Mission, so recommending.
3. That we say to the Soochow Station that
we regretfully decline to appropriate $20,000 (gold)
for the purchase of land at Wusih. We do notb feel our
finances would justify us in making this expenditure at
this time.
4. That we respond to the request of the
native brethren of South China, that we provide the salary
