The report of the Committee on China was read

,Ve recommend:
1. That, inasmuch as Miss Janie W. Lide,
who is to have charge of the Girls’ normal School. of the
Eorth China Mission finds that she will need two years
instead of one in which to cpmplete her special course of
training for this work, and inasmuch as the South Caro¬
lina .V Oman's Missionary Union proposes to provide, over
and above their regular contributions, the salary of
Miss Lide, that she may complete. her course, Miss Lide's
furlough be extended one year.
2. That, inasmuch as the soecial school
allowance granted in several instances for Mission¬
aries' children in China is special, the Board does not
